Astro A40 Audio System: Review

Astro A40 Audio System is one of the best looking headsets I have ever seen, It has very comfortable padding, If you want to play for hours and hour without getting a headache than this headset is for you. The A40 comes in 2 colors, Black or white, I had seen both and they are both amazing, It’s almost impossible to decide which one you want more.

The A40 sound quality is the best you can get, with this headset you hear the game the way developers wanted you to, you can hear every footstep, you will also notice the direction of every bullet which in most games is a huge advantage, like in Modern Warfare 2. This headset gives you the unfair advantage

Now it’s time to talk about the other part of the Audio system which you may not even know about. The MixAmp is the small box that has two volume controls, there is one which controls the main Volume, and the other controls the voice volume or the in-game volume. In Addition to the volume control, the MixAmp allows for 5.1 Dolby surround sound. There are also connections on the back of the MixAmp which allows you to connect to the various compatible systems.

This system isn’t just for gaming, The MixAmp has 3.5mm port on the back which allows you to listen to music from your MP3, In addition to the surprise of a gaming headset having this input, it also allows you to listen to your music while playing a game at the same time. It’s a lovely feature.

The A40 Headset comes with Speaker Tags on both ear cups which you can replace with your own custom ones, which you can design on the www.astrogaming.co.uk website with their new Custom Tag Creator. If you have a clan who travels to gaming events you can have your own Logo or motto on the speaker tags which will make you look more professional.

There is only one downside to the Astro A40’s or A30’s (expect a review soon), the wires. If you are using a optical cable, you will have four other cables in use. Some people may find they can’t handle all those wires. I find no problem with these wires, But it would be nice not having so many. But having so many wires equates to better sound quality.

Overall Gamenoob loves the Astro A40 Audio System, There is no other headset on the gaming market that has the sound and comfort as the Astro A40 audio system. The entire A40 Audio system will cost you around £188.00 when you include the Toslink cables. We would highly recommend the Astro A40 Audio System if you’re looking for a quality headset, with amazing sound and some interesting features. You can purchase the A40 Audio System on Astro’s Website located here
