Avatar Ninja Review

I really dread it when reviewing Indie Games because they are just never that fun. Theres no achievements, theres no story and the so called “fun” only lasts for about a few seconds before you become bored of the game. But none-the-less I should proberly get on with the review.

So Avatar Ninja… well to be honest it’s not even that. I mean who came up with the name? When I played the game, and heard the weird music, I was like “Ok… I’ll go along with it…” and then my Avatar came up (as most indie games do contain your avatar). And all I had to do was repetively kept pressing A (apparently to keep the beat, but there was none!) and you had to press B, X and Y when it is shown on the screen (when one of the buttons come up, you either have to jump, slide under or crash through something). Whilst your avatar is running, you’re picking up coins which count as points and of course the more coins you pick up, the more points you earn. There are three different kinds of coins, being bronze, silver and gold. The better colour you pick up more of, the more points you’ll earn (of course!). You keep running until [you get bored or] you reach the end of the level or you run out of health (of course if you get bored and leave, the session would have all been a waste of time). You are then placed on the leaderboard on how well you did. I’m surprised there are those who got a really high score. It is just such a boring game to be honest.

Overall the game is very dull and very boring. I don’t really know who to recommend this to, but I guess to those who love Indie Games no matter what they are. They call it Avatar Ninja, but there isn’t even a single ninja around. Your Avatar isn’t even dressed as a ninja either. I think the only thing that is “Ninja like” is the background you run through and what you run on, which is on water…. what’s up with that?

You can buy the Indie game for 40 on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
