HISTORY Great Battles Medieval To Be Released This Month
HISTORY Great Battles Medieval is the second game in the Great Battles series (HISTORY Great Battles of Rome being the first). With the television channel HISTORY backing the game, and the knowledge from the channel, along with documentary clips, means this strategy RPG is claimed to be the most detailed and realistic medieval combat game ever made. During the game, you will lead armies through some of the greatest medieval wars and watch as history lives again.
The game is based on the Hundred Years War (1337-1453) – one of the most famous conflicts of the time between England and France which shaped the future of these nations. As the English, you will fight under Henry V, the Black Price and many others; and as the French you will fight for Joan of Arc and the King. During the 70 medieval battles, you will command more than 20 different squad units which has all been carefully researched and produced in a high level of detail. The squad’s skills, armour and weapons can all be customized, and all animations in the game have been motion captured by professional stunt actors. To avoid all of the soldiers looking like clones, there have been variations in the animation between them. When rushing into battle, units may raise or thrust their weapons in the air, or maybe shout a battle cry, while those units who are waiting may bang on their shields and taunt the enemy. There are three gameplay modes available – campaign, skirmish and multiplayer. During gameplay you will be rewarded with money, experience points and unlocking new equipment and units.
HISTORY Great Battles Medieval is due to be released at the end of September 2010 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC with a 16 rating.
