BBC To Make Season 2 of DW: The Adventure Games
The BBC have announced that they are going to be creating a second series of Doctor Who: The Adventure Game.
The first three episodes, “City of the Daleks”, “Blood of the Cybermen” and “TARDIS” has recieved over 1.6 Million downloads since the start. The final episode has still to come and will be released later this year, possibly near the christmas special of the BBC show.
The PC and Mac games are free of charge on the Doctor Who website, and Matt Smith and Karen Gillian have both announced they will reprise their roles in the adventure games. A series of special guests who have appeared in Doctor Who before are also set to be in the games, but no one has been offically announced yet.
“Given the success of the first series, we’d be daft not to recomission,” says Simon Nelson, who is head of multiplatform in vision at BBC. “But it’s not just about the numbers; the feedback we’ve had has been overwhelmingly positive. Our audience has been introduced to a new form of drama – and, for many, these have been the first computer games they have downloaded. We’ve set new standards in audience participation – and we think we’ve really helped push the concept of families actively playing together. I can’t wait to see what the team does next.”
The games are avaliable on the Doctor Who website for free for PC and Mac.
